The tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana, which describe the large turns of a life, and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits - Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles - which describe its everyday texture. Each card carries one meaning when it is drawn upright and another when it is reversed.
